Position Summary
The School of Hospitality Business at Michigan State University is seeking fixed-term Lecturer/Ast Instructor/Instructors to teach undergraduate students. This position requires a strong commitment to teaching and an ability to develop and implement curriculum. The School of Hospitality Business is currently looking to fill two fixed-term positions in the areas of Event Management and Finance. One successful candidate will be responsible for teaching HB 380 Event Management in the Spring 2025 semester totaling 3 credits. In addition to teaching, the candidate will be expected to advise students in areas connected to Event Management. This is an excellent opportunity to work with a renowned institution and contribute to the development of future leaders in the hospitality industry.

Minimum Requirements
The successful candidate is preferred to have a master's degree from an accredited university and a demonstrated record of teaching excellence in Event Management. The candidate must also have experience developing curriculum, and a passion for engaging and educating undergraduate and graduate students. There is a possibility that the candidate will also teach in a graduate program in the future. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential for this position, as the successful candidate will be expected to work collaboratively with colleagues and interact with students from diverse backgrounds. Additionally, a commitment to advising is essential for this role.
Master's degree required for Instructor ranks and Bachelor's required for Ast. Instructor rank.
Desired Qualifications
At least 5 years of work experience in event organization, execution, and management is essential. MPI or CMP Certification is a strong advantage.
