The lab focuses on immunobiology in periparturient dairy cattle and neonatal calves with the goal identifying and testing mechanisms that enhance immunity in these animals to increase their resistance to infectious diseases. The methods employed to achieve these goals combine mechanistic studies using cells or tissues with epidemiological studies in the commercial farms. The research is funded by federal and state agencies as well as industry.
Duties for this position will include:
(60%) Support to laboratory-based research activities, including assisting in the design, execution, and troubleshooting of experiments and protocols; keeping of detailed and accurate laboratory records, including protocols and databases; assisting with data entry and preliminary analysis of results.
