Position Summary
The Department of Art, Art History, and Design at Michigan State University is currently establishing a pool of fixed-term assistant professors and instructors. These positions will be filled per course/per semester, on an as-needed basis. Applicants in this pool are reviewed when the program has an immediate need to fill a vacancy as needed within two years to begin as early as January 1, 2023.
Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate courses in art history in both the Art History program and in MSU’s Integrated Studies in Arts and Humanities program. We are open to all fields, with a preference for Latin American Art and Global Modern Art.

Required Degree
Doctorate
Minimum Requirements
ABD or Ph.D. in Art History or a related discipline for Assistant Professor appointment.
Masters required for Instructor level appointment.
Experience teaching at the college level.
Desired Qualifications
Expertise in Latin American Art and/or Global Modern Art
